This is the filter system with the plumbing stubbed up in their approximate locations. The line all the way to the right is the skimmer. Next to the left is the Main Drain and all the way to the left is the return line.

This is a top view of how the skimmer line (on the right) is plumbed into a three way valve with the Main Drain line (on the left). The three way valve will allow you to isolate the skimmer and/or main drain line by only having to turn the black handle on the top of the valve.
